Many humanitarian organisations working with Cash Based Transfer Programmes (CBTPs) struggle how to clarify or assess the impact of it. The workshops will deal with evaluation design of CBTPs and will present best practices.

The working session is relevant for humanitarian professionals working with CBTPs, both program officers, and monitoring & evaluation officers. The program offers insights on the perceptions of beneficiaries on CBTPs and offers tools that could assess the impact of CTBPs.

  • Marrit van den Berg (Wageningen University) – Evaluation design: the importance and difficulties of a good survey & the added value of CBTPs.
  • Elias Sagmeister (Ground Truth Solutions) – Collecting data on perceptions of cash recipients, based on experiences with CBTP-research in Turkey, Afghanistan and Kenya.
  • Thomas Baar (Humanity X, Leiden University) – Lessons learned from CBTP-evaluations in Lebanon (WFP) – using data to analyse digital cash programmes.

There will be lot of room for debate and interactive exploration of specific needs and questions of the participants. After the working sessions there will be drinks and networking.

Thursday 24 May 2018 KUNO, Humanity X and DRA organise a half-day workshop on the impact assessment of Cash Based Programs. For more information and registration please contact:
