On 11 September 2017 we facilitated Oxfam’s one-day rapid prototyping workshop looking at the potential use of blockchain technology in the humanitarian sector.

The event, hosted at the PwC offices in London, was part of a broader series of workshops that HumanityX is running on the topic of blockchain in the humanitarian and development sectors.

Blockchain is an exciting new technology with great potential and these workshops aim to create a common language among technologists and humanitarians so that both parties can leverage the technology for peace, justice and humanitarian purposes.

Aims

During the day minds from across different sectors met in the pursuit of a common language regarding blockchain in the humanitarian sector. The event also provided opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing, as well as, the exploration of a specific user case (beneficiary registration) presented by Oxfam.
